  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 1

Johnsy and Sue are artists who move into Greenwich Village in New York City. As Winter approaches and the weather gets colder, Johnsy becomes ill with pneumonia. She gets so sick that she believes that when the last leaf falls from the vine outside her window, she will die. An old artist, named Behrman, who lives in the same building as the girls, braves a storm one night to paint a leaf on the wall — a leaf that will never fall. Cold and wet from painting in the icy rain, he catches pneumonia and dies. This gives Johnsy the hope to survive her illness, and it also creates the masterpiece Behrman had always dreamed of painting.

It is said to have material to the poor-the painter to inspire the survival of patients with courage, passed away in the branches of ivy on one side painted leaves the scene of praise for the Protection of the personality and noble character

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 2

The Last Leaf is a short story written by O Henry, Settled in Greenwich Village. Its depicts characters and themes are typically of O Henry’s work.

Johnsy has fallen ill and is dying of pneumonia. She watches the leaves falling from the window of her room, and decides that when the last leaf drops, she will die, too. To encourage her, Mr. Behrman painted the last leaf in a stormy night but he died of pneumonia because of his efforts in the storm.

This is a sad story about sacrifice as well as a moving story about hope. Likewise, we can learn about something from this story, something that totally different from each other.

Everyone has a certain purpose that support all his life, and we call it hope. Hope means an oasis to a man walking in the desert. From Johnsy’s recovery, there’s no doubt that hope is her holy light which points out her direction.

Meanwhile, everything should be paid off, including kindness. Maybe we can consider Johnsy’s recovery as an exchange with Mr. Behrman’s sacrifice. No wonder it will be a cruel comparison, but it is an universal routine in the world. In addition, it warns us not to let ourselves have our own way without limitation.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 3

The last leaf is symbol of the leaf of life. It is the most treasured gift from an old artist!

The story described a young couple of good friends. It"s Johnsy and Sue. After a period of happy time, Johnsy encounted the Mr. Pneumonia in a cold night in November. One day afternoon, she was desperatly looking out of the window and was counting the leaves on the ivy tree. She firmly convinced that she would leave the world after the last leaf fell. She hadn"t any passion for the furture life! Hadn"t none other better ways, Sue had to ask the help of the Mr. Behrman. And old poor artist who lived on the ground floor beneath them!

He was a failure in art. he has been always about to paint a masterpiece, but had never begun it. Af firstly, he was very scornful about this frustrated girl who was giving up her life after hearing of the last leaf story from Sue. Actually, in this old man"s feeling inside, he earnestly wanted to save this poor and young girl. He panited the last vivid and lovely leaf throughout a dreadful night. Finally, this materpiece has been completed, and Johnsy kindled the life fire again. However, Mr. Behame died of the Pneumonia.

The story ended here, but, the sincere friendship would never stop forever! It is penetrating in every sentence of this essay, and it is also hovering in the reader"s heart! Let us respect this best art-man! Meanwhile, I also associate him with my parents. They breed us and cultivate us! They have given us their best presents! We shall do all of our efferots to return the contributions to them!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 4

Read the O. Henry "the last leaf", I was deeply touched. Came down with pneumonia Johncy girl ivy leaf on the wall outside the window as his own life. Look at pieces of falling leaves, she couldnt help but pessimism and despair, she felt that the last one fall, she also want to go to. Old painter Mr Behrman is also suffering from pneumonia in the last leaf fell down in the evening, laid it on the wall in the rain for Johncy painted the last leaf, he died.

Johncy collapse because of her illness, and even pessimistic to the life on the leaves. She thought that the last leaf fall, she is free. Treat life, optimistic and pessimistic people will make a different choice: optimists in time will be facing death to life full of hope, brave fight for their own life and death; While pessimistic person, even with a healthy body, because the bad state of mind you are blasted the vigorous life.

In the story, Mr Behrman painted the ivy leaf, not just a leaf, it is not just a picture, it is the symbol of people unremitting pursuit of hope, also reflects the Mr Behrman, kind heart. It gives Johncy living courage and hope, and to heal her pneumonia.

In this life and death struggle, Johncy because Mr Behrman that a leaf, the great spiritual power, set up the confidence, to overcome the disease and brave to fight the disease, withered life finally erupt again. In fact, everyone will encounter difficulties and setbacks, the key is to see if you have confidence, can be brave to face it, overcome it.

In life, in the face of difficulties, in the face of challenges, just keep the optimistic positive attitude, brave to challenge, even if failure, there will be no regret. Lets paint in his heart that a piece of falling leaves, not positive in the face of life.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 5

"last leaf" this article is my "childrens literature" on the see. when i finished reading the article, i who had a deep admiration for the artists talent and the kind of self-sacrificing spirit.

what happened was this: so a good friend of jones, unfortunately, contracted pneumonia, in their residence out of the window there is a cluster of ivy, through the baptism of wind and rain, and its leaves have disappeared into obscurity. jones think when the last one leaves off the ivy-ray later, her life, coming to an end. so this can not be racking their brains to dispel the idea of her, only to the downstairs, mr. berman for help. berman is a painter, he knew that after a wet and windy night, in the ivy leaves off the light, when girls think that their certain death, when the old painter to allow girls to rekindle the fire of hope, he braved the wind and rain to leaves painted on the wall, for which he contracted pneumonia and died.

read it, tears blurred my eyes, i thought of how great the old painter. him, an ordinary painter, in order to save itself has to give up on a girl, paid with his life. i seem to see the face of it after he leaves unfinished a brilliant smile. he finally has had his wish. that is, he hopes to complete his jingshizhizuo during their lifetime. it seems to me that he did. i think if he were alive, he would think so.

from the bottom of my heart i admire mr. berman, as well as the psychological jones previously was sad. when people can not give up hope. like our class a female classmate, she was very confident of their own. in a jumping goat, her teachers and fellow students rely on the constant encouragement, she finally jumped in the past. so, in our side, also need, as mr. berman did for our people to keep lit the fire of hope. in this way, our lives would flourishing.

from each of a small matter, every word from the language, one from each eye, we are little by little to build our self-confidence. therefore, we must be careful to do things, talk, do not give up someone elses confidence. a people do not have self-confidence, nothing can be done.

when reading this article, i have been wondering: why, mr. berman will be death? because i did not know he was to die in order to draw a leaf, but did not know what was actually his paintings to their work. until i saw the words of the last paragraph of the article. this is what the soviet union to the friends said, she said: "there are some things i must tell you, white mouse (jones), mr. rae mann died of pneumonia in the hospital today. he only sick for two days. the first day of the morning, to see found the door in his room very sick. his shoes and clothes were soaked, and cold speranskia tuberculata did not know he was doing in that wind and rain the night went, only found a lantern, still lit; there is obviously just used a ladder; have a few to throw on one side of the brush; a nianman yellow, green, two kinds of mixed-color palette, as well as … … my dear, you look out the window bar, wall ivy leaf on that last one! you not think mody? why wind and rain it does have a motionless? oh. dear mr. berman jingshizhizuo this is?? that night, when the last leaf to fall, he took it painted on the wall. "

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 6

“Hills Like White Elephants”, one of Hemingway’s terrific works, is a story that happens at a train station in the Ebro River valley of Spain. An American and his girlfriend are drinking beers and having a conversation when they are waiting for the train. In the dialogue, the young man’s attempt of convincing the girl Jig to take an operation has caused a lot of arguments. Though they are not explicit about what this operation really is, I consider this operation an abortion.

The conversation between them suggests that they are talking about an abortion. In the text, the man says it is an awfully simple operation and “it is just to let the air in” (Hemingway, 373). “To let the air in” is a process of vacuum aspiration in America in the 1920s, which is commonly used as a method of induced abortion. What is more, in their argument, Jig says, “Once they take it away, you never get it back”(Hemingway, 374). The man also makes it clear that he does not want anyone else but her. And this statement indicates a third person is involved. What could be the thing taken away in an operation that you may still want it back? Who could come to get in their life if the girl does not take the operation? All we can come up with is a baby. The man does not want a baby before they settle down, before he is ready to take the responsibility of raising a family. And Jig is still struggling about whether to take this operation or not in their debates. So this is an operation to take the unexpected baby away---abortion.

Sceneries between the two lines of the rails are also indications of their two different choices in pregnancy. On one side, there is no shade and no trees but only barren land stretching toward the hills. On the other side, the land is covered with green, fertile fields and river. Barren is used to describe a woman who is unable to produce children while fertile represents female’s capability of producing babies. If Jig agrees to take the operation, then the baby will no longer exist and thus making her barren. But if she chooses not to, then she will be consider as a fertile woman who is able to produce babies. That is to say the two totally opposite views symbolize their dilemma of the pregnancy --- infertile or fecund, undergo the abortion or not.

The title of this story itself is a metaphor implying this is an abortion. White elephant denotes something that is completely burdensome, although it may be precious enough. And here in this text, the white elephant is the symbol of a baby—valuable but troublesome. There is no doubt that the baby is a treasure. But the fact is that they are a young couple traveling around the world without a place to settle down. They have neither enough time nor energy to take care of a baby. Even if they don’t have to worry about those material conditions, they are not psychologically ready yet. Problems like “requirements of being qualified parents” has never occurred in their minds. Based on both physical and psychology circumstances of the young couple, we can see that the baby is precious but also a burden. Hence the white elephant here is an intimation of an abortion.

The phrase “to let the air in” makes it quite clear that this is an abortion. And during their debates, we can get to know someone is involved in this young couple and the American is trying to get away from this third person by requesting Jig to take the operation. Furthermore, the two different landscapes on the two sides of the rails is also foreshadowing us the outcome of Jig’s choice. Take it, she is barren. Reject, fertile. And the white elephant becomes emblematic of a baby that could be a sweet burden in their life. This symbol strengthen the operation that has been talked about in the whole story is an abortion. With all these factors integrated together, we can conclude this is an abortion.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 9

This story’s name is “The little prince”. As it known to all, we will encounter a lot of difficulties, even hardships. Different people may have different ways to deal with them. After reading The Little Princess, I am deeply impressed by Sara’s way to deal with difficulties. The Little Princess was written by Frances Hodgson Burnett, a famous novelist and dramatist. Sara, the heroine of the novel, was born in a rich family. In order to get a better education, her father took her from India to London so that she could go to the best school. Because Sara was kind-hearted, generous and most of all—rich, she was loved by everyone. All went well until her father died in an accident. Everything changed pletely. She didn’t understand why the teachers and classmates treated her so badly. Even the principal who used to be fond of her, made her work 16 hours a day. Sara’s miserable life began. When I finished reading the book, I was shocked by what the unimaginable pain Sara had suffered

after her father’s death. She used to be a happy, worriless, and rich Princess, but now she was a lonely and poor servant. She had to work very hard without any rest but only had little food. Besides she had to endure the unfriendly and even rude ways that her classmates treated her. All teachers and students in the school looked down upon her. The most important fact is that Sara had lost the love and care of her parents. What a mighty pain! If you were Sara, could you stand such pain? Needless to say, an 11 years old girl, even if it were an adult, he might not put up with it. But to my surprise, Sara faced it bravely.

Despite of the torture of the principal and all those pressures above, she still was optimistic towards life. By reading this novel, I felt inspired and think much. When we meet such difficulties, what should we do? Some people always plain that the fate is unfair to them. Some people can’t sustain the hardships and choose to give up. Few of them even try to mit suicide because they lack the courage to overe it. Compared with Sara—an eleven years old girl who can treat the pressure of life with optimistic spirit, these people’s performances are sounded so lamentable. Why can’t they make it?However, what impress me most are her characteristics and the thought of her “being a real princess.” This “real princess” does not mean luxury palaces, beautiful clothes and the apple of the others’ eyes, but being kind, generous and having good manners. It is unnecessary for “a real princess” to be strong in body, but she must be strong in will. Sara is a real princess in my heart all the time, whethe

r she was rich and wore beautiful clothes in the classroom or she was cold and hungry in the attic, just because she had the good characters and kind heart. The story went on. Fortunately, a friend of Sara’s father found her and told her that her father left a great sum of money to her. I pray and believe that every good person in the world deserve a good result, and of course, we are the same.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 10

I have never been to Troy, but David Maule made me feel as if I were standing on the high wall of Troy, watching the fierce war. Thanks to this British author, who adapted the famous Homer’s poem into a lively story, I found it easier to understand this story.

Though the story happened over 3000 years ago in a remote place, I was deeply fascinated by it. The mysterious plot is one of the reasons why I loved The Story of Troy so much, yet I am more interested in the human heroes of the war.

Hector was the eldest son of king of Troy, Priam. He was not only a real hero of Trojan, but was regarded the highest moral hero in Greek classic by later historians.

The war started because of the mischief of his brother, Paris, whom he didn’t appreciate. However, since Hector was the mander of the Trojan army, he was obliged to fight with all force. It was really a tragedy that such a valiant man died in the duel with another great warrior, Achilles.

It is natural to see death in a war. As a famous Chinese parable says, “A life can be as slight as a piece of feather, or as weighty as Mount Tai.” Sometimes, one’s glory walks hand in hand with one’s doom. Achilles was such a typical person. His personal charm made The Story of Troy more attractive.

He was so crucial because his every appearance in a war encouraged his fellow soldiers and terrified the enemies. Actually, Achilles was half-god who was almost invincible in people’s mind. That’s why his name was memorized long after his death.

Besides the two great men, the wisdom of Odysseus also proved him to be a great hero. He didn’t want to attend the war because he was happily married and had a lovely son. However, since his country was allied to Mycenae, he had to take the mand given by the king of Mycenae.

I’m quite sure that the story of the wooden horse is widely known, however, few people know who thought of the brilliant idea, that’s why I admired Odysseus so much because he was the person who got the idea. Thanks to the horse, the ten-year war came to an end at last. If you want to know how the wooden horse worked, just read the book.

The ancient Greeks believed that the gods and goddesses also played important roles in the origin, process and ending of the whole story.

The story of the golden apple was such an example.

When Eris, the goddess of argument and disagreement, threw out the golden apple to a wedding ceremony on Mount Olympus, a dispute happened. Hera, the queen of gods, Athena, the goddess of wisdom, and Aphrodite, the goddess of love and beauty, were all involved in the argument for the apple.

None of them was willing to give way, so they turned to Paris for a final judgment. Tempted by Aphrodite’s beauty and promise, Paris handed the apple to her. To keep her word, Aphrodite helped him to get Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, as his wife. That was the cause of the war.

Paris’s choice obviously annoyed the other two goddesses. So during the war, they helped the Greek alliance army while some other gods, such as Apollo and Aphrodite, guarded Troy.

When Paris dueled with Helen’s former husband Menelaus, Aphrodite saved Paris when he was about to be finished off.

After the duel between those two people, there was a truce between the Greek alliance and Troy. However, both Hera and Athena were not happy to see it.

Hera pursued her husband ZEUS:“ Now, will you send Athena to make the Troyjans break the peace?”(Page 22) Then with Zeus’s permission, Athena went down to start the war again and finally she brought the Greeks to success.

From the whole story, we can see that in ancient Greeks’ view, gods sometimes played a much more important role in their life. However, with the rapid development of science, we have learned that the Greek gods never existed. This is why a recent movie of Troy has not mentioned a single god.

Everything happened due to men’s ambition, love, loyalty or jealousy. With those emotion and people’s effort, we human beings can acplish wonders and be master of the world.

God are of less importance than they used to be. Nonetheless, the gods and goddesses made The Story of Troy more mysterious and marvelous.

I have learnt from the book more than the wonderful story of history, love and war. I believe that human can determine their destiny by their own. I highly remend this book to my friends with the same interest.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 12

Jane Eyre, is a poor but aspiring, small in body but huge in soul, obscure but self-respecting girl.

After we close the covers of the book, after having a long journey of the spirit, Jane Eyre, a marvelous figure, has left us so much to recall and to think: We remember her goodness: for someone who lost arms and blinded in eyes, for someone who despised her for her ordinariness, and even for someone who had hurt her deeply in the past. We remember her pursuit of justice. Its like a companion with the goodness.

But still, a virtuous person should promote the goodness on one side and must check the badness on the other side. We remember her self-respect and the clear situation on equality.

In her opinion, everyone is the same at the Gods feet. Though there are differences in status、in property and also in appearance, but all the human being are equal in personality. We also remember her striving for life, her toughness and her confidence… When we think of this girl, what she gave us was not a pretty face or a transcendent temperament that make us admire deeply, but a huge charm of her personality.

Actually, she wasnt pretty, and of course, the ordinary appearance didnt make others feel good of her, even her own aunt felt disgusted with it. And some others even thought that she was easy to look down on and to tease, so when Miss Ingram met Jane Eyre, she seemed quite contemptuous, for that she was obviously much more prettier than the plain and ugly governess. But as the little governess had said: Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless?

You think wrong! This is the idea of equality in Jane Eyres mind. God hadnt given her beauty and weh, but instead, God gave her a kind mind and a thinking brain. Her idea of equality and self-respect impress us so much and let us feel the power inside her body.

In my mind, though a persons beauty on the face can make others once feel that one is attractive and charming, if his or her mind isnt the same beautiful as the appearance, such as beauty cannot last for, when others find that the beauty which had charmed them was only a falsity, its not true, they will like the person no more.

For a long time, only a persons GREat virtue, a noble soul, a beautiful heart can be called as AN EVERLASTING BEAUTY, just as Kahill Gibran has said, that Beauty is a heart enflamed and a soul enchanted.

I can feel that how beauty really is, as we are all fleshly men, so we cant distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but fleshly men, so we cant distinguish whether a man is of nobleness or humbleness, but as there are great differences in our souls, and from that, we can know that whether a man is noble or ordinary, and even obscure, that is, whether he is beautiful or not. Her story makes us thinking about life and we learn much from her experience, at least, that is a fresh new recognition of the real beauty.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 13

Jane Eyre gives me much useful inspiration after reading it.

I respect Jane Eyres independence and I am most impressed by the true love between jane Eyre and Mr. Rochester who was a poor blind man, twenty years older than her. Jane Eyre never felt herself inferior as a tutor before Mr. Rochester and gained an equal status. She had lofty sentiments and was pure in mind.

She had not been contaminated by common customs, so Mr.Rochester was attracted by her independent personality and falling love with her. In the story, Jane Eyre dismissed the chaise and driver with the double remuneration, which reflected her determination to come back to Mr. Rochester. She did not know whether Mr. Rochester was really there, but she still groped about in the twilight and came to the desolate house.

She missed him that much. She only hoped that Mr Rochester let her live with him even if she found Mr Rochester blind and mutilated. Mr rochester became extremely excited when he heard and felt his beloved Jane was still living.

He suggested that Jane marry one of the other young men because he thought himself as a sightless block. But he also showed his jealousy when Jane talked about St. Johns proposing marriage. All in all, Mr. Rochester was always loving Jane deeply. Mr. Rochester once exclaimedJane,Jane!Janeand Jane heared Rochesters voice calling to her. Her voice replied,I am coming. Wait for me I think these are the call of love and the answer of love.

Later on, after their marriage, Mr.Rochester miraculously regained his sight and lived happily with Jane. Personally, love can fasten the hearts of lovers tightly. Love is beyond time and space and the miracle of love can lead prayers to become reality.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 14

Recently, I have reading the book "Jane Eyre". Although I forgot some details in the book, Jane gave me deeply impression, I admire her very much.

After that the teacher also told us to put the play in to a movie, and then we all can touch each heros soul in the book. The play it mainly tell us how Jane is growing up when suffering from great difficulties and painless. whats more, it is impressed me that she still love her master even if he is blind at last due to rescue his mad wife. And I like the Classic lines what Jane said to Mr. Rochester:"Do you think I can stay to become nothing to you?

Do you think I am an automaton?--a machine without feelings? and can bear to have my morsel of bread snatched from my lips, and my drop of living water dashed from my cup? Do you think, because I am poor, obscure, plain, and little, I am soulless and heartless? You think wrong!--I have as much soul as you,--and full as much heart! And if God had gifted me with some beauty and much weh, I should have made it as hard for you to leave me, as it is now for me to leave you.

I am not talking to you now through the medium of custom, conventionalities, nor even of mortal flesh;--it is my spirit that addresses your spirit; just as if both had passed through the grave, and we stood at Gods feet, equal,--as we are!" its so beautiful, Jane is a girl who will never lose confidence in life and always sensible when handling with some motional problems.

Jane was huge in my heart. She can control her life and fate. She knew how to continue her life and she got it!

Maybe after what she told me I have known that what love is and how to love and to be loved! The book is a book worth of reading, so all in all lets enjoy it!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 15

The Olympic Games, which originated in ancient Greece, is the most distinguished sporting event in the world. Once every four years, the utmost athletes from all around are lured to gather together and spare no efforts to compete against each other and try to win a medal for the country that they represent. Frankly speaking, that was virtually all I knew about the world-famous Olympic Games before I had read a book entitled The Olympics published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research press. However, I found even more philosophy beyond just winning medals from reading the book, which was beyond my imagination and considerably inspiring.

Someone once said, “Were everybody on earth involved in some kind of sport, our world would be free of war for long.” Starting from three thousand years ago, the ancient Olympic Games has long been an event not only for competition but also for peace. In ancient times, no war was allowed between the cities during the Games, which was rather surprising to me since I could hardly imagine warriors actally putting down their weapons and give a break for peace. The precious tradition of peace continued: I would never fail to recall the scene of the opening ceremonies when North and South Korean athletes entering the stadium with their hands held together. The two neighboring countries that used to be enemies are no longer enemies during the Games. Instead they became friends. Speaking of the 2004 Athens Olympics, perhaps most people would have the same opinion that the most noable part of the opening ceremony arrived when Iraqi and Afghan representatives showed up. These two unfortunate nations, the people of which have undergone innumerable wars, are coming back again to take their own responsibility in world sports after recent invasions by America. The fearless people of Iraq and Afghanistan are once more sharing the spirit of the Games with people from the rest of the world.

There is another story in this book that makes me deep in thoughts. There is no doubt that the most unusual Olympic Games ever in history is the 1936 Olympics held in Germany, which was then ruled by the Nazi party. Led by Adolf Hitler, the Nazi believed that the so-called Aryan people were superior to all others in all aspects. They looked down upon Jews and blacks, the latter of which was a major constitution of the United States Olympic team. Despite the barrier that faced him, the African American Jesse Owens, who was a most outstanding runner and jumper, did all that he could and finally won gold medals for his country and went home a hero. This reveals another fact that no power on earth is able to hinder the sacred Olympic Games. For all participants, no matter what their gender, race, nationalities and backgrounds are, equality is distributed among every one who observes the Game’s rules.

At the 2004 Athens Olympics, our Chinese team did extraordinarily well. We ranked second on the medal lists for the first time in history. In my opinion, however, we should not only concentrate on the figure of medals; instead the strength and perseverance of those who failed to get any medals ought to be highly cherished. Whether ever success or failure, whether ever cheer or tear, whether ever medal or not, the never-gave-up spirits of athletes are always motivating us. I believe in the year 2008, the world will focus all their attention to Beijing, China, where the glory of the Games will continue to thrive forever!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 16

The book I read this week entittled the Red and the Black, which is undoubtedly among the best liturature works. As a person who haven’t had much knowledge in literature, any comments on this work seem to be rather naive and even sort of reckless. But this is the only book I have access to recently. With much deliberation, I would like to write down following words.

The book mainly tells a story about a man named Julien, who came from a carpenter’s family and got a shrewd father and two elder brothers characterized by huge size and rudeness. Though he wasn’t quite athletic, he got talent with his memory. He could recite the whole contents of the Bible, which made him admired by people around him and win him a job as a family teacher. And this is the part where our story begins. Under his gorgeous face, there exists a relentless lust for fortune, power and status, all of which derive from his persuit of happiness, dignity and freedom and finally contributed to his downfall. He worshiped Nepolen the most, and he is willing to die a thousand times to win his success. He desires for love, yet sometimes he used it as a tool to obtain his status and power. However, he had never given up showing his sympathy for the poor and contempt to the Noble. His pureness blended together with ambition and felt self-abased and conceited at the same time. As a young man, he ignored what’s really important for him—being loved. And he just realized this until death was around the corner. The story is a tragedy, for he hasn’t got what he wanted in the end and he sacrificed too much for his contemporary fame and fortune. At the last few hours of his life, those happy times he spent with his loved ones gave him courage to face death penalty with calm . when he realized that he didn’t have to tolerate the world filled with fakeness or put a mask on his face, he died with ease.

Julien stands for the group of people coming from the low class in the society and hope to achieve success with their own efforts. These people usually don’t have the necessary conditions to become successful, but they will by no means stop trying or let God tells them what their lives should be like, instead, they are willing to sacrifice anything to realize their dreams and earn their dignity. For these people, no matter what the consequences their struggle may be, I should forever pay my tribute to them. To some extent, they are the makers of the world.

It seems to me that many readers’ English reading experience starts with Jane Eyer. I am of no exception. As we refer to the movie “Jane Eyer”, it is not surprising to find some differences because of its being filmized and retold in a new way, but the spirit of the novel remains----to be an independent person, both physically and mentally.

Jane Eyer was a born resister, whose parents went off when she was very young, and her aunt, the only relative she had, treated her as badly as a ragtag. Since Jane’s education in Lowwood Orphanage began, she didn’t get what she had been expecting——simply being regarded as a common person, just the same as any other girl around. The suffers from being humiliated and devastated teach Jane to be persevering and prize dignity over anything else.As a reward of revolting the ruthless oppression, Jane got a chance to be a tutor in Thornfield Garden. There she made the acquaintance of lovely Adele and that garden’s owner, Rochester, a man with warm heart despite a cold face outside. Jane expected to change the life from then on, but fate had decided otherwise: After Jane and Rochester fell in love with each other and got down to get marry, she unfortunately came to know in fact Rochester had got a legal wife, who seemed to be the shadow following Rochester and led to his moodiness all the time ----Rochester was also a despairing person in need of salvation. Jane did want to give him a hand, however, she made up her mind to leave, because she didn’t want to betray her own principles, because she was Jane Eyer. The film has finally got a symbolist end: Jane inherited a large number of legacies and finally returned. After finding Rochester’s misfortune brought by his original mad wife, Jane chose to stay with him forever.

I don’t know what others feel, but frankly speaking, I would rather regard the section that Jane began her teaching job in Thornfield as the film’s end----especially when I heard Jane’s words “Never in my life have I been awaken so happily.” For one thing, this ideal and brand-new beginning of life was what Jane had been imagining for long as a suffering person; for another, this should be what the audiences with my views hoped her to get. But the professional judgment of producing films reminded me to wait for a totally different result: There must be something wrong coming with the excellence----perhaps not only should another section be added to enrich the story, but also we may see from the next transition of Jane’s life that “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you would get.” (By Forrest Gump’s mother, in the film “Forrest Gump”)

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 18

Oliver Twist one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the life in Britain in 18th century.

The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.

The hero of this novel was Oliver Twist an orphan who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain such as hunger thirst beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the little Oliver I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my relief as was written in all the best stories the goodneeventually conquered devil and Oliver lived a happy life in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft little Oliver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maylie and Rose and began a new life. He went for walks with them or Rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.

How can such a little boy who had already suffered oppressive affliction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information implied in the novel by Dickens-he believed that goodnecould conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodneis omnipotent yet I do believe that those who are kind-hearted live more happily than those who are evil-minded.

For me the nature of goodneis one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodneis to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodneis an utterly worthleperson. On the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodneundoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 20

The author of The Last Leaf, O. Henry, is an American short story writer and the founder of modern American short stories. I was deeply touched and couldnt help but watch it over and over again

This is a touching story; Unfortunately, Qiongxi contracted pneumonia and her life was in imminent danger. She believed that she had no hope left, that her life was coming to an end, and that if the last leaf fell, she would lose her life. In order to give Qiongxi the desire to live, the old painter Bellman, on a stormy night, disregarded his own body and braved the wind and rain to walk towards the tree. At the last moment of his life, he painted the precious last leaf for Qiongxi on the wall and then left

That leaf cannot be considered a real leaf, nor can it be considered a painting. But it was like a divine doctor, curing Qiongxis pneumonia and giving her confidence to survive.

Of course, Qiongxis recovery was not only helped by the old painters leaves, but more importantly, the sincere heart of the old man gave her the courage and confidence to survive.

Reading this book several times made me cry, and the one word that moved me was confidence - as long as you have confidence, you can defeat everything. I am a girl who lacks confidence. When answering questions in class, I always dont like to raise my hand. I know I can, but I dare not answer for fear of getting it wrong. My mother and teachers often encourage me to express my opinions boldly, but I always cant muster the courage.

I thought to myself that Qiongxi had strong confidence that she could even defeat illness and continue her life. Why cant I even overcome such a small obstacle. I have said this to myself several times. I must overcome myself, "I silently said to myself.

Although I still cant express my opinions so boldly now, I silently encourage myself every time and firmly believe that I can do it. I have made a lot of progress now compared to before. I also believe that I will become better.

Now I finally understand how important confidence is to people. Confidence is a key that opens the door for us to move forward; Confidence is a lamp that illuminates our path forward; Confidence is still a cup of sweet water that disperses my sadness.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 21

What is friendship? Friendship is a jar of wine, the more aged it becomes, the more fragrant it becomes; Friendship is an umbrella, shielding against wind and rain, and never leaving; Friendship is a rising beam of sunshine, warming peoples hearts and dispelling gloom... Friendship is a harbor that a group of like-minded people rely on together.

In O. Henrys short story "The Last Leaf," Su and Qiangxi are two like-minded companions. Painting is the bond that connects their friendship. For the common artistic dream, they came together - sketching, depicting still life together... The peaceful life full of strong artistic atmosphere was shattered by Qiao Anshans pneumonia.

The saying goes, True feelings are revealed in adversity.. During Junshans illness and bed rest, Xiuai gave up her artistic dream and stayed by Junshans side to take care of her. When the doctor lost confidence, Su Ai faced the seriously ill Shan Qiong with a relaxed and optimistic attitude; While she kept asking, Su Ais detailed answer concealed her anxious wish for Qiongshan to recover soon

Su Ais subtle movements and seemingly casual words, such as "crying loudly", "pretending to be indifferent", "bending over", "sleeping face", carry the deepest friendship between the two. In fact, life is an unstained painting, and colored pens are colorful friendships. Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, blue, purple, unable to laugh or cry, sour, sweet, bitter, spicy, salty. Friendship is honed time and time again, creating the most beautiful picture in the world.

The last leaf carries the hope of life and witnesses human friendship. I also have close friends in life, and the wisteria flowers on campus record our friendship stories. Under the wisteria, we had a misunderstanding, and the song Little Lucky once again built a bridge of friendship between us. I also wrote an article titled Smiling Fortune, which said, I heard raindrops falling on the green grass, I heard the distant bell ringing for class, but I didnt hear your voice, calling my name seriously...

Surrounded by singing, forget your troubles, cherish your friendship. Just like the relationship between Suai and Johnsy in "The Last Leaf", true friendship is always about helping each other and not "flipping back and forth"; True friendship must overcome everything and overcome difficulties together. Rare and precious, even surpassing life and death.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 22

This week, I read The Last Leaf. Its author is O. Henry, known as the father of modern American short stories. The endings of his novels are all very unexpected, but it is reasonable to think about them, and the language is full of humor and wit.

The story in "The Last Leaf" is like this: Qiongxi and Su met at a restaurant, and after talking, they found that they shared similar interests, so they rented a studio together. One day, Qiongxi was knocked down by the unexpected guest of pneumonia, and placed her hope for life on the ivy leaves outside the window. When Su went to hire the old painter Bellman downstairs as a model, he casually told Bellman the bad news. One morning after the storm, Su and Qiongxi unexpectedly discovered that there was still a leaf on the ivy. Qiongxi finally regained her energy and picked up hope for life. It turned out that the leaf was painted by Bellman through wind and rain, which accelerated the outbreak of Bellmans pneumonia and led to his death.

  The Last Leaf

The old painter Bellman rarely painted in his life, but at the end of his life, he painted this leaf that saved others lives. Isnt this a masterpiece? Although he was a melancholic old painter, he saved Qiongxi with his full heart and compassion. His spirit of silent dedication and selfless help to others is truly worth learning from.

There are also people in our lives who silently dedicate themselves. For example, urban beautification artists, engineers of human souls, as well as our family and friends. This selfless act of helping them is regardless of their status. Whether you are a high-ranking presidential official or an ordinary person in the vast sea of people, you have the ability to help others. Give a sincere smile when encountering acquaintances on the road, and give a hug when others need comfort. Reaching out a helping hand when others are in trouble. Perhaps our help may seem insignificant, but silently letting others know that you will always encourage and stand by their side. Our abilities are nothing compared to those of Old Bellman, and we dont have that much power. But I believe that if everyone can do it, we will usher in a better and hopeful future.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 23

I looked at Ou I was moved by Henrys The Last Leaf . The general idea of this novel is as follows: a girl named Johnsy, who has contracted pneumonia, takes the ivy leaves on the wall outside her window as her lifeline. Watching the leaves fall one by one, she despairingly thought to herself: When the last leaf falls, Ill go too. After the old painter Bellman, who also suffered from pneumonia, learned about it, he braved the rain and painted the last leaf for Johnsy on the wall on the night when the only remaining leaf fell... Bellman eventually passed away, leaving only his "final masterpiece" - an ivy leaf. It is not even a leaf or a painting, but it goes far beyond the meaning of the leaf and the painting.

In the entire novel, the author does not provide much description of Bellman, mostly using side effects, and even the most touching scene of Bellman painting leaves is not mentioned. However, I can still strongly feel Bellmans passionate spirit like fire. I can imagine how on that stormy night, the old man dragged and blended yellow and green, displaying his artistic talent on the wall that he had never shown before, while dedicating his life without reservation... However, Joans recovery was not enough with only the leaf painted by Bellman, it had to rely on her own strength to overcome the disease. Why didnt the doctor sentence Qiongxi to death or confirm that she could be cured when she was suffering from pneumonia, and instead said she had to rely on herself? It is precisely because in this struggle between life and death, only by establishing confidence and making efforts can one win. Later, Qiongxi indeed recovered. From this, I think: everyone will encounter difficulties and setbacks, the key is whether you have confidence, whether you can face it, and overcome it. Johnsy also fell into a low point of disappointment, but inspired by the last leaf that Bellman exchanged for her life, she picked herself up again until she recovered. She is a winner who has overcome difficulties!

The Last Leaf "is just a small story, without earth shattering plot or more fancy words, but it educates people with profound ideas.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 24

After reading The Last Leaf, what surprised me the most was not that the leaf painted by Bellman miraculously resurrected Joan, but that Mr. Bellman, in his final moments of life, completed the masterpiece that he always mentioned but had been delaying in order to save Joans life.

The beginning of the article did not use many fancy language to embellish Bellmans image as a prelude, and even wrote a few sarcastic sentences about Joan, which formed a big turning point with the ending. It tells us that we cannot judge a person from a certain perspective, temporary words or actions. A person with a sharp tongue on the surface may have a warm heart, just like Bellman.

When Qiongshan was seriously ill, she compared herself to the withering leaves on the ivy outside the window. In her opinion, after the last one fell, she also died, so she lived in a negative state every day, as if waiting for death. After a few days, only the last leaf remained. She thought she would die the next day, but when she woke up the next day, she was pleasantly surprised to find that the "last leaf" that had been beaten by wind and rain all night had not fallen. As a result, Qiongshan gradually recovered.

Originally, the last leaf had already fallen, and what Qiongshan saw was only what Bellman had painted on the wall. The author did not depict the scene when he completed his "masterpiece". Perhaps Bellman completed the masterpiece with a sense of "mission", which made Joan optimistic; Or perhaps he was enduring the torment of illness, with only one thing in his heart, which was to complete the last leaf at the last moment of his life.

From the perspective of art appreciation, Bellmans Last Leaf may not be considered a masterpiece, but from a spiritual standpoint, it is also a great masterpiece?

In life, there are also many people like Qiongshan who have lost faith in life and are waiting for death. Think about it, perhaps there will be a Bellman by your side, and there will be that leaf that keeps you alive. Even if it is only the last one, it is the belief that keeps you going. They are like dawn, giving you the power to be reborn.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 25

A century ago, on a wall in the community west of Washington Square, there was a ivy leaf that did not sway with the wind. The "God of Green Leaves" - O. Henry - gave it the power to never drift away. But I clearly saw the moment it fell, it was that stormy night, but I never heard the sound of it landing.

In that bleak era, material resources, economy, and even human hearts were bleak. But life always shines brightly and will not allow this indifference to spread in peoples hearts. There are two young painters, each with their own ideals. By chance and shared interests, they became close friends and naturally joined hands to work towards their dreams. A desolate era creates a desolate destiny. One of them was choked by illness, but luckily an old painter who was extremely suitable for that era appeared. He was addicted to alcohol and had no achievements. Perhaps he was just a person buried in that era, but he created a brand new life and a legend with a leaf.

You can treat this story as just a story, as an ordinary life. But you cannot fail to notice the dazzling brilliance in human nature. Su and Qiongxi are just a pair of friends who have only recently met, but Su can risk being infected and try his best to keep Qiongxi safe. Old Bellman has no connection with these two young people, but he can use his paintbrush, his most perfect masterpiece, and his precious life to save her.

Falling flowers are not heartless, turning into spring mud protects them even more. "Old Bellman was the last leaf on the ivy, silently falling on that stormy night. No one noticed, even when they opened the curtains early in the morning, no one noticed that he had drifted away, and no one heard the sound of a soul falling. Because what they see is another vibrant life. The life of an old painter falls into the soil of spring, nourishing another life.

A leaf is swaying in the wind, its just floating, this drifting across the ocean, brushing over a hundred years, do you know how much weight of life this leaf carries. When it drifted into my heart and listened to its impact on my soul, I received the answer.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 26

After reading the story The Last Leaf of the Vine, it left a deep impression on me. It is a very touching story, and the author O. Henry used delicate techniques to vividly depict the selfless character of Old Bellman; The story goes like this: two strangers, named Su and Qiongxi, rented the same studio due to their shared interests. However, Qiongxi was knocked down by a contagious pneumonia, and she believed that her fate was tied to the last leaf of the ivy. But after two nights of strong winds and heavy rain, the leaf did not fall off. Why? At the end of the article, the author explained that on the night when the leaves fell, Old Bellman braved the rain and painted a leaf on the wall. It was Old Bellman who used his own life to awaken hope in Johnsy. A sad and happy ending that never forgets the scene of Old Bellman painting leaves in the rain, and the relieved expression on Old Bellmans face before he died because he saved a life; I cant forget the tears that Johnsy shed for Old Bellman when she recovered.

I think this article tells the story of a kind and selfless person like Bellman, who educates people to have the idea of selflessness and provides inspiration. People with kind and loving hearts are beautiful and indestructible in the hearts of the world. This not only reminds me of the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12th, but in every school that was shattered by the earthquake, there were several teachers who used their own flesh and blood to hold up a protective umbrella for the children. These selfless teachers are not just real and living old Bellmen, they also sacrificed their lives to let the younger generation live better. Although their personalities are different, they share the same heart, mission, and attitude. Let us remember Old Bellmans actions because of O. Henry, and those teachers and nameless people because of the earthquake!

What does the last vine leaf hold? It embodies infinite love. It taught me a principle of being a good person, to have a kind heart and a selfless heart.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 27

The story goes like this: In a small community west of Washington Square, there are many painters living there. This is an antique old town area, also known as the "art district". Su and Qiongxi live here. They met while eating at a small restaurant and found that their hobbies were very similar, so they shared the studio. In November, Qiongxi contracted pneumonia. She was lying in bed, motionless, gazing at the old ivy outside the window. One morning, the doctor called Su to the corridor and said, "I think she only has one tenth of the hope of recovery, and this hope is the hope that she wants to survive." After saying that, the doctor turned around and left. Su heard a faint sound coming from the room, so she quickly walked to the bedside inside. Qiongxis eyes were wide open as she counted the leaves on top, but they were just counting down. Qiongxi said, "After the last leaf falls, I will also follow that leaf to heaven." In the evening, Qiongxi fell asleep groggily.

They also live downstairs with a painter named Bellman. During the conversation with Bellman, Su told him about this matter, and Bellman was very concerned about it. At night, Bellman went out with his paintbrush and drawing board... The next morning, Johnsy asked Su to open the curtains. Oh, thats unbelievable! "Exclaimed Qiongxi in surprise. She said, I was wrong, God left that leaf there. I think you should bring me some chicken soup and some milk. The doctor came in the afternoon and said to Su, She has a 50% chance. The next day, Qiongxi was able to get out of bed. Su said to Qiongxi, "Mr. Bellman passed away from pneumonia today. He was only sick for two days. Today in his room, his shoes and clothes were all soaked and cold. Later, I found out that he painted his most satisfactory painting on that tree - the best leaf

This story tells us that as long as we persist, we will succeed.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 29

In Europe In Henrys The Last Leaf , Johnsy, who had contracted pneumonia, compared herself to the last leaf on ivy, representing her own death.

Qiongxi believed that she would pass away with the falling light of the leaves, so she counted the remaining leaves every day. However, as the last leaf fell, it was not Qiongxi but Mr. Bellman, an old painter suffering from pneumonia. Originally, the last leaf had fallen, but the old painter climbed up the tree and painted a leaf. The next day, Mr. Bellman passed away.

I think this leaf is Mr. Bellmans greatest work during his lifetime. Leaves are the sustenance of Qiongxis life, and Bellmans retention of Qiongxis life. Qiongxi is too fragile, ridiculous enough to put her life on a leaf, but in the end, it was the leaf who saved her life.

Behind a perfect life are thorns. It will cut you and pierce you. These are actually not important, as long as you have expectations, miracles can be created.

Bellman, who was mostly impoverished, built expectations for Josie when she lost them. Compared to entrusting his life to the swaying Johnsy, Bellman is more like a failed hero. We all respect him and the leaf of expectation when dealing with him.

The protagonist of this story is Johnsy, but it was Bellman who helped her grow up. From him, we read about love and dedication. And most importantly, expectations.

In the world, there may be countless women like Johnsy, who may be fragile, and there may also be people like Bellman around them. But without everything, we must not lose hope. Expectations are like dawn, they can give you the power to regain your life.

  The last leaf never falls.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 30

The novel "The Last Leaf" by American author O. Henry tells the story of a young female painter named Johnsy who is on the brink of death due to pneumonia. In the words of a doctor, "her illness has less than one tenth of a chance of recovery." In late autumn, lying on her sickbed, Johnsy begins counting the yellowed leaves on an old ivy outside the window. She was certain that when the last leaf fell, she should have gone herself. But the last leaf, no matter how wind or rain blows, will never fall off. Qiongxis spirit was greatly inspired, and her body miraculously improved.

After reading this story, I felt the powerful power that faith brings to people. Just like those people buried deep in the ruins during an earthquake, what force kept them going until the moment rescue workers rescued them? Thats right, its faith. The source of this belief may be their underage children, the lovers they have been longing for day and night, or the parents they need to take care of... These people are the ones they care about, and it is precisely because of these concerns that they are inspired to believe in continuing to live, that they are unwilling to close their eyes in hunger, thirst, and pain, and that they create one miracle after another after the golden rescue time.

Tagore once said, "Faith is a bird, it feels the light and sings a song at dawn and still in darkness." Yes, faith is like a bright lighthouse on the sea at night, giving the sailors who fight against the wind and waves the determination to persevere.

Every minute and every second, we should not lack firm faith, because it is precisely because of faith that we have the motivation to keep moving forward.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 31

A few days ago, I read a storybook called The Last Leaf. In the story, there is a lovely and beautiful little girl named Joanne who unfortunately contracted pneumonia and is on the brink of death. The doctor helplessly told her friend that the medication had lost its effect and could only wait for a miracle to happen. The stronger Joannes belief, the greater her hope of survival. This made Joanne very disappointed. There is a ivy outside her ward window, and as the seasons change, the leaves of the ivy gradually fall. Joanne was trapped in endless pain and couldnt extricate herself. She even thought to herself: when the last ivy leaf fell, she would also be destroyed and go with it

The painter Bellman, who shared the same ward with her, was an extremely caring elderly person. He observed that Joanne had lost the courage to fight against illness, and when the last ivy leaf fell, Joanne would surely die of despair. In order to save Joannes young life, Elder Bellman risked his own life and used all his strength to draw an evergreen ivy on the wall. This evergreen ivy ignited hope in Joannes heart, and she had the belief to survive. She bravely overcame the disease and miraculously survived.

I used to frequently communicate with my mother about various issues. My mother once said to me, When it comes to everything, we should always think of its positive and healthy side, rather than blindly digging out its negative side. Although I understand this principle, it is not very clear. After reading this story, I have gained a deeper understanding of my mothers words. In life, as long as you have faith, miracles will always happen. Although the hope is small, it will always exist. Joannes story will accompany me in facing the ups and downs of life, allowing us to spend every day healthy and happy.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 32

In the vast darkness, I feel nothing but helplessness. But when we see a glimmer of light, we often stand up again and desperately walk towards the light, because we see hope.

The protagonist Qiongshan in the story has lung cancer, and she believes that her life will end with the falling leaves of the ivy outside the window. When the leaves of the ivy fell one by one, Susan felt like she was one step closer to death. This is Susan, who has seen no hope at all. She is becoming increasingly depressed, with no hope for the future, thinking that she is hopeless, and even if the doctor tries to treat her, there is no improvement.

She is very depressed and hopeless. But when the last leaf fell, a frustrated old artist painted him a green with a hint of yellow, so that this leaf would never fall. When Susan saw such a tenacious leaf, she saw hope again. She believed she could survive, and Susans condition began to improve

We should see hope, only then can we continue to move forward. During the Three Kingdoms period, Cao Caos army marched in a desert, but the water source was insufficient and the soldiers were thirsty. Many soldiers could no longer walk and their morale was low. The situation is extremely critical! At this moment, Cao Cao thought for a moment and said that there was a piece of plum forest ahead. After walking for a while, we could eat plums. His soldiers thought that they would soon be able to eat the thirst quenching plum, and without realizing it, they gained strength and finally walked out of the desert. In fact, there was no Merlin ahead, only the soldiers saw hope and got out of the predicament. So, the team that was originally expected to not be able to leave the desert, ultimately emerged from the desert with a glimmer of hope.

In our lives, we will inevitably encounter setbacks and fall into passivity, but even so, we must still hold a glimmer of hope, because this glimmer of hope, at least we still have the possibility of success!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 33

During the summer vacation, I read the famous writer O. Henrys "The Last Leaf". If you had read this book, you would have remembered the sentence: "When the last leaf falls, I leave." When I first read it, I swallowed it whole and couldnt understand it. A few more days later, with nothing else to do, I read it again and learned that the young female painter Josie, who loved life very much, had contracted pneumonia. She thought she would quietly leave like a leaf in late autumn. At this moment, I realized that this novel had great metaphorical significance, and what Josie said was a serious warning to the world. There is a story that takes place in O. Henrys hometown, many years ago in the United States. The famous American President Roosevelt was very fond of the spotted deer, and in order to protect them from lion and wolf attacks, he ordered the killing of all their predators.

The natural enemies have disappeared, but they have also seriously disrupted the laws of nature. The number of sika deer has grown rapidly, and they have eaten all the leaves on the trees. In the end, the sika deer have nothing to eat, and many have died. That is a lesson that nature has taught us. Green is a symbol of peace, and we must follow the laws of nature to maintain ecological balance. Because we only have one Earth, we need it to provide food for animals and plants, a UV free living environment, and sufficient water and oxygen. Green is the source of all these things. The last leaf brings new life to the dying, and I believe we will create a touching story. Without a leaf, there will be no one, and its not just a warning in one sentence. We must protect the green and the earth, and face reality without fear of challenges; Looking ahead to the future, we are full of confidence.

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 34

Under the light, I gently closed the book "The Last Leaf" written by O. Henry in front of me, still recalling the wonderful content from the book just now in my mind.

The Last Leaf "mainly tells the story of a little girl named Qiongxi who is seriously ill in bed. She always looks out the window at a big tree, watching leaves fall from it one by one, because she believes that when the leaves fall, she will also die with the tree. After a painter named Behrman knew about it, he went out in the rain on a stormy night and painted a green leaf for Qiongxi. The leaf was still green and bright under the storm, and grew firmly on the tree. Qiongxi perked up for this and her condition gradually improved. However, Old Bellman unfortunately contracted pneumonia due to being caught in the rain and passed away despite treatment.

Adhering to beliefs is a necessary condition for success. As individuals, we should be grateful to have life and to be able to come into this world. Therefore, we should cherish life, never give up hope, and strive to live positively no matter what setbacks we encounter.

Secondly, what touched me was Bellmans love for Johnsy. Although they didnt know each other, Bellman sacrificed his own life to regain Johnsys belief in her survival and saved her.

This reminds me of a quote from Higgins: Only those who have the belief in victory can become the victors on the battlefield.. Faith is a steel knife that supports the brave warriors who fight alone on the road to success, giving them the courage to overcome difficulties and use this sharp steel knife to cut through the thorns on the broken path, making the journey smoother.

In life, everyone will encounter difficulties and setbacks, and the key is whether they have confidence and can bravely face them! The green leaf in Old Bellmans pen symbolizes hope and life. Let us also use courage to draw the evergreen green leaf in our hearts and face life positively!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 35

Recently, I have been reading inspirational stories online. The Last Leaf is an inspirational story about hope, which has left me deeply moved.

The story mainly tells: In the ward, a critically ill patient saw a tree outside the window, falling one by one in the autumn wind. The patient looked at the fallen leaves in front of him, and his health deteriorated day by day. She said, When all the leaves fall off, I will also die. After learning about this, an old painter used a colored pen to draw a leaf with green veins and hung it on a branch. The last leaf never fell off. Just because of this green in life, the patient miraculously survived.

This story reminds me of a story my dad once told me. At that time, I was still in my mothers womb, and my grandfather was suffering from lung cancer, a terrible cancer that seemed to be about to take his life. My father took a special leave and brought my mother who was pregnant with me back to my hometown to accompany my grandfather. One day, my father heard a piece of news from somewhere that the cure for this type of cancer had already been researched. Dad told Grandpa for the first time, and Grandpa was also very happy when he heard it. Since that day, my father has been eagerly anticipating the release of this miraculous drug, and my grandfather has found hope to survive. Three years have passed, but my grandfather passed away before the drug could be released on the market. The doctor said that my grandfathers lung cancer and his ability to live for such a long time is already a miracle. The doctors originally speculated that my grandfather could only live for one year after I was born, but this result was greatly unexpected for them.

This story tells me that as long as you have faith, there will always be miracles happening when painting a leaf for life. Although hope is slim, it will last forever in this world. There may not be many things in life, but only hope. Hope is an important value in human life. Where there is hope, life never ceases to thrive!

  《最后一片叶子》英文读后感 36

At the age of over sixty, the forest god Satirs head rolled down like a little devil, and he was the old painter in The Last Leaf - Old Bellman.

In The Last Leaf, Qiongshan, who suffers from pneumonia, takes the ivy hanging on the outer wall as her lifeline. Leaves are falling one by one, just like the life she is losing day by day. She thought in despair: If the last leaf falls, then I have to go too. In a heavy rain, the last leaf finally fell. Old Bellman, who also suffered from pneumonia, painted a green new leaf on the wall in the stormy rain. Qiongshan miraculously survived, but Old Bellman died of illness in the hospital.

In life, we all encounter difficulties and setbacks, but the key is whether we have confidence and can bravely face them. I think Qiongshans survival is not only due to the reignition of her belief in life, but mainly due to the brave sacrifice of Old Bellman. His sacrifice was a kindness and love beyond life, which led him to drag his sick body to save the life of a young painter who was dying of pneumonia. Great love selflessly, like flames, illuminated the path of Qiongshans future life.

At this moment, I suddenly thought of myself: Do I possess the spirit of sacrificing myself for others? If someone is in trouble, would I lend a helping hand regardless of gains or losses? Because it is difficult to achieve in this way, we should maintain a loving heart, get along harmoniously with the people around us, and help each other, so as to step step step by step on our own path of life.

The green leaf painted by Old Bellman symbolizes hope and life. Let us also use courage to paint a green leaf that will never wither in our hearts, and face life positively!
